End of the road
As I walk a dead stretch of road,
My will and courage does erode.
Dragging my feet through frozen snow,
Lost my way, Ive nowhere to go.
My mind desires a serene world,
Yet into the dark, I am hurled.
Vain attempts to escape the cold,
These efforts are never extolled.
Lifting my eyes to greet the stars,
They shine so bright, yet seem so far.
I lift my hand to reach the sky,
Crooning, my fate I wont defy.
Why did I believe all was well?
All common sense it did dispel.
My heart grows heavy as I rest,
It screams and flails inside my chest.
The grass smells sweet where I now lay,
Vivid, the scents of my las
